What is Drench and why is it used on Andover lawns?

When moss keeps coming back

Moss is most persistent on the clay-with-flints ground around Charlton and the higher parts of the town, where the heavier soil stays damp for far longer than the chalk below and any shade from established boundary trees or hedging adds to the problem. On the valley floor near the Anton and Test, gardens with mature planting and damper alluvial soil can experience the same conditions. Even on the drier chalk slopes, shaded north-facing gardens with close boundaries can see persistent moss through winter.

Moss does not cause a thin lawn, it colonises the spaces that weakened or thinning grass has already left behind.
